Escapade Con

The con comm is busy discussing and planning and getting ready to make Escapade 2019 a super fun time for all of us!  The con is just over two months away, and we wanted to remind you of a few things you can do to get ready for the con and help make it the experience you want it to be.

• Register! If you haven’t registered yet, you can do so here:

Register for Escapade

• Book your hotel room! The con rate is good until February 1, 2019. But it frequently sells out early, so don’t delay!

Location

• Submit your panel suggestions! Escapade panels are good because of the ideas submitted by Escapade members. You guys make Escapade panels fun and interesting and topical and invigorating. Go read about panels that other fans have already submitted, and submit your own ideas to make sure the conversations at Escapade 2019 are conversations you want to have!

• Nominate someone for an Escapade scholarship and donate to the scholarship fund! By participating in the Escapade scholarship program, you can help bring someone to Escapade that might not otherwise be able to attend, or a new attendee that you know would have a great time.

• And don’t forget to do your holiday shopping at the Escapade merch store! An Escapade gift card can be used for Escapade merch or be applied toward an Escapade registration.

Items on offer include magnets and tote bags, and a special Escapade 25th anniversary fanzine, featuring fic from some of your favorite authors and long-time Escapade community members.  An Escapade gift card also makes a perfect last-minute gift for a friend who can use it to buy merch or apply it toward an Escapade registration!

To celebrate Escapade’s 25th and have some swag, we ordered Escapade-logo coffee mugs. They will be available in the dealer’s room (orphan zine table) for $10 each. We hope you’ll like them as much as we do! 

In addition, NakedBee made more great swag available through the Escapade Zazzle store, with the option to choose from a number of her lovely “theme” penguins: artshow, vidshow, the gala party event… *g* You can also get the main Escapade logo on shirts, bags, and other items.  

The Escapade anniversary zine will be released in pdf and e-reader formats on the Saturday night of the con, in time for the story hour. Nearer the convention, we’ll let you know at what print-on-demand company we uploaded the files, so you can order a hardcopy for yourself if you wish. 

Finally, we’ve heard that some people haven’t gotten the few e-mails we’ve sent out. Please make sure you have info@escapadecon.net in your address book, and let us know if you’re still expecting a response from us (we’ve checked pretty thoroughly, but just want to make sure!).
