New announcements for Escapade 2015

escapade_teamThe Escapade convention is 25 years old! For its 25th anniversary, we have made some changes that will make the con better for attendees—and convention info easier to get for people who want to learn more about the con.
· Real Clear Website: www.escapadecon.net has been updated, with more important info on the home page, lovely updates of Escapade’s look by Killa, Rick, and Naked Bee, a more comprehensive FAQ, and details about just who the convention team is, and what they do.
· Location, Location, Location: In Los Angeles, at the Four Points Sheraton, conveniently located near LAX, with easy 10-minutes-away access to local beaches.
· One-day Memberships: This convention has always been designed to be “party-sized”, so everyone can meet and greet everyone else. Its maximum cap this year is 150 people. In the past, we have tried to discourage one-day memberships, but we get how important they can be for locals whose schedules just don’t allow for a full weekend.
· Fandom Survey: Before the panel programming opens, we’re doing a fandom survey, so we can better weight the fandom panels toward the fandoms more attendees are into.
· Parties: Thursday night’s early registration and mixer, with discount drink tickets redeemable at the hotel’s lovely bar, is just like last year. Friday’s Opening Night gala will roll out the red carpet, literally. Fancy dress is not required, but you are invited to don your very finest to walk the rope line to the songvidshow/dance party, and get the celebrity treatment we all love. Saturday night, the songvid show After Party will be held in the convention suite.
· Convention Fanzine: Because the convention began when fanzines were a huge, normal part of conventions, we got nostalgic and we are producing a zine to celebrate the con’s 25th anniversary.
