Hope I can get this time off from work! Such a bummer that I missed last year, and hope that won't happen again.

Well, it happened again -- missing Escapade. The library where I work hosts community-wide events several times a year and staff participation is pretty much mandatory. The next such event is on Friday, January 31, the same day as the start of Escapade.
