We are very sad that some of our full-time staff members are not available to attend the convention this year. The two most critical positions are listed below. If you are the person, or if you know the person who could fulfill one of these jobs, please email us ASAP at info@escapadecon.net

We can offer a free reg for this year for people not already registered, or a comp reg for 2018 if you’re already registered this year.

On-site Tech Coordinator

Tasks: Initial setup of tech/alt space, oversight of dance party setup/breakdown, participation in Saturday vid show setup/breakdown. Breakdown of tech/alt space, collect/pack tech for load out.

Experience/Skills needed: Ability to set up and test audio receiver/monitor/computer/blu-ray setup. Some strength required to set-up projection screen. Ability to follow instructions and work in a team. Willingness to do complete work.

Hours: Fri 8:30-10am, 6pm-late, Sat 6-10pm, Sun 3-4pm

Dealer Room/Orphan Sales

Job description: Oversee the operation of the dealer room, handle onsite dealer requests, accept and sell orphan sales items, provide reports and count out cash to orphan sellers at end of convention. Note: this position conflicts with much of the daytime programming at Escapade, but is great for socializing with folks as they wander through the dealer room.

Experience/Skills needed: friendly disposition, ability to count money (or use a calculator).

Hours: Fri 9am-7pm, Sat 8:30am-1pm and 3-6pm Sun 10:30am-3pm

Given the current political climate, we have chosen the ACLU as Escapade’s charity this year. They are staunch defenders of women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, free speech and electronic privacy.
