Moonlight Mead

Moonlight Mead was a first-time attendee at Escapade 24, where she said she’d found her fannish family. The next year, she fulfilled a lifelong dream of getting published in a fanzine–a lovely Pros story you may have read in Escapade’s 25th anniversary zine.

You may not know that she’s battling cancer and that she is in stage 4 now.

She is comfortable at home in Wales, surrounded by loved ones, fannishly “out” to her family, and still reading emails and well wishes. (And when she can’t, her sister and husband read to her).

We didn’t want it to come as a surprise–those surprises suck worse than the news itself. So if you’d like to email her or say “hi” on her LJ, you should absolutely do so. Her LJ username is Moonlightmead, and her name/desc is a honeyed wine at night.
