We had a great Fanlore panel at Escapade this year. Fans at the panel said everything from "huh -- I think I heard about that -- did it ever open?" to "adding wikilinks to other people's articles is what I do while watching television."

The subtitle of the panel was "Are BNFs writing our history?" but it could as easily be said, "is the 'other side' writing the history?" The awesome thing is, everybody is welcome to put content on Fanlore, but when in some fandoms, only a small group of people do all the writing, important stories, voices, and points of view are lost. And the only way to fix the problem, is to have more people contribute.

Come, write! Get your feet wet! Bring yesterday's wank, or your vague memories of things pre-internet -- and if someone disagrees, let them put their version next to yours, in the Fannish Plural Point of View!
